Emergency Travel Certificate

Ghanaian Travel Certificates are issued only to persons who are not in possession of a Ghana passport and who require travel to Ghana under an emergency situation.

Travel Certificates are valid for a single journey to Ghana only and cannot be used for a return journey to Switzerland.

The validity period of a Travel Certificate is one (1) month.

In addition to a completed Application for Travel Certificate Form and the applicable fee, applicants are required to produce evidence of Ghanaian nationality, such as:

• A photocopy of a previous Ghana passport
• Original Birth or Baptism Certificate
• Any Ghanaian identity card

Applicants must also submit two (2) passport-sized photographs.

A Travel Certificate applicant may be required to report for an interview.
